On Wednesday October 21st the Easton Lions Club hosted the annual Chicken BBQ for the elderly up at the Council on Aging building on Barrows St. This year’s menu consisted of grilled chicken, baked beans, rolls, potato salad, green salad and cake. The seniors were well entertained by the great sounds of Herb Raffelson and Steve Heck.
“A big thank you to all the Lion’s that helped out this day” said Stan Borgeson, project chair. Those Lions were: Ken Wood, Charlie Hammond, Nancy Sullivan, Marilyn Henderson, Judy Jackson, Cathy Ferrone, Jeanne Ebert, Jim Howarth, Joyce Tardito, Frank Paul, Bob Molton, George Mussari, Rob Goodrich, Dottie Fulginitti, Lynne Cleveland, Nancy Arns, and Matt Soldner. Special thanks to our grill men Tony Cabral and Joe Techiera. Also a mention to Bob Cunha as head runner.
This year’s dinner also included a 50/50 raffle hosted by Ginny Ando and Paul Lemieux. Of course the Eye Mobile was there in full force, manned by Rich Freitas, and George Mussari.
“We look forward to bringing this project to the elderly next year” said Stan Borgeson. “On this day, the Lion’s Club truly did serve!”
