Monday, September 11, 2017: Eyeglass Cleaning

The Eye Glass Recycling Committee is holding two (2) eyeglass washing and bagging events at

Raynham Lions Hall
2234 King Phillip St
Raynham, MA

1:00PM -3:00PM and 6:30 PM -9:00 PM

This is a District wide event and is open to all clubs. Mark your calendars and invite your members to come and help with this project. This is a great opportunity to meet and catch up with other Lions from the District. With a additional opportunity to gain credit for the R.O.A.R. and P.R.I.D.E. programs by notifying your club secretary of your attendance.

Please email Matt Soeldner, Easton Lions Club Secretary,  (fozzie215@yahoo.com) or Nate, Eyeglass Recycling Chair, (nate@natehelge.com).

Looking forward to your help on the 11th and if there is enough Lions in attendance to help we will start separating glasses between metal and plastic frames for recycling. If any clubs are looking to wash eye glasses as a club event, twinning or zone project we are willing to travel if you have the place.

Saturday, September 30, 2017: Blink of an Eyed 5K Run & Walk

It’s a full weekend event at Scusset Beach State Reservation in Sandwich, MA.  with the walk/run, children’s activities, lots of food, and a DJ during the day on Saturday, a dinner Saturday night, and breakfast Sunday morning!

Camping available for Friday and Saturday nights at beautiful Scusset Beach on the Cape Cod Canal. The Lions have camping spaces in the Safari area, so please contact Halifax Lion Ken Corti at 781-336-9711 (cell) or lionken@gmail.com (email) to reserve a spot.  He will need to know your name, how many folks, and RV/pop-up/tents that will be camping over.  The www.reserveamerica.com website  will only let you register for the regular sites, not the Safari site.

For the 5K Run you should register online through our RaceWire registration site.  Runners are also encouraged to use the pledge form to raise money for research to find a cure for preventable blindness.   Walkers only are encouraged to use the pledge form.

Packets can be downloaded at http://e-district.org/sites/33s/page-8.php.  Only those raising at least $100.00 will be given tee shirts.
