The Moffitt Pavilion at Frothingham Park

Moffitt Pavilion at Frothingham Park, Easton, MA
Last July (2021) several members of the Easton Lions Club met with members of the Frothingham Park Board of Directors to discuss a possible joint project between the Park and the Club using monies that had been bequeathed to us from the estate of Warren Moffitt.

Warren was a local businessman and friend of the great Lee Williams.  Before he passed, Warren discussed with Lee his desire to leave his estate to several local charitable organizations, among them, the Easton Lions Club.  Over the past year we have used the Moffitt monies to make donations to the House of Possibilities, the Greater Brockton ARC, My Brother’s Keeper, Father Bill’s & Mainspring House; we helped launch a local veteran’s support group called Path to Healing; we built a bocce court at the Barrow’s Street Council on Aging; and we funded construction of the Moffitt Pavilion at Frothingham Park.

The Pavilion was completed yesterday, and it looks great.  All that remains now is the creation and installation of a plaque, which we have asked Lion Lori Maver to design and install.

While the funds came from the estate of Warren Moffitt, Lee Williams was integral in championing Frothingham Park to the Club’s Memorial/Bequest Committee.  Lee’s vision was proved perfect once again; the Pavilion looks great.

I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to Lions Ken Love, Jon Morgan and Lori Maver for their work on the Memorial/Bequest Committee, to Chuck Hurley and the Frothingham Board of Directors, and to the estate of Warren Moffitt for helping the Easton Lions Club contribute to the overall development of Frothingham Park, one of the true jewels of the town.

And thank you once again, Lee Williams, whose ripples of impact continue to spread throughout the town he loved.

Andrew Parker
President 2021-22
