In 2013, our Club started a new community project, c0-chaired by Henry Narsasian and Nancy Sullivan, to support Senior Citizens in Easton who are living in the Southeast Regional Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Care Center on Lincoln St., some of whom have no family and no visitors. We know that many have lonely holidays.
Our project brings a visit from Santa and his Lion Elves who are on hand to assist in carrying “Santa’s Sack” of gifts for all residents on the three floors and special unit at the Center. The staff at the Center are honorary Elves as they lead us through the care units and help introduce is to each and every resident/patient.
It is a wonderful afternoon bringing cheer, warmth, smiles, and special friendship to the senior citizens who might live in the solitude of aging and illness. When Santa arrives their eyes light up and smiles appear. It’s a wonderfully rewarding way to brighten up the hearts of those who receive, and those who are there to give on behalf of our Club. It is a project that brings the true spirit of the holidays to all involved. \
