Easton Lions Present the 29th Annual Televised Charity Auction

Posted January 26, 2015, North Easton, MA – The Easton Lions Club will present the 29th Annual Televised Charity Auction on Sunday, February 8, 2014 at the Oliver Ames High School in North Easton.  The auction will be broadcast, LIVE, in the school Cafeteria from 2:00 to 8:00 pm by Easton Community Access Television.  This annual event will feature many local personalities; the ever popular Alan Siegel as emcee, Lee Williams and Brian Hoffman on the Big Board and a host of talents on boards A, B and C.  In addition, catch a glimpse of your friends, scouts, and neighborhood kids showcasing items up for auction and running the bids to the auction boards.  Many school groups are helping on and off-camera and manning the phones for our action. We will auction-off over 200 different items from a 2007 Ford Focus to a 20” girl’s bike, from antique stained glass to gift baskets and gift certificates to your favorite local business!

The Cause

This is the Easton Lions biggest fundraiser of the year to raise funds to support our community and eye research.  The Easton Lions Club provides assistance to many charities and organizations close to home, within Easton and Massachusetts.  In the past ten years we have given over $300,000 to Easton scholarships & toolships, veteran’s groups, Food Pantry, FORE, FEEE, boy & girl scouts, and countless other school and youth groups in need of funds to support their causes.  We have also donated over $300,000 to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund and Mass Eye and Ear in Boston in keeping with the challenge issued to the Lions by Helen Keller:

“Will you not help me hasten the day when there shall be no preventable blindness; no little deaf, blind child untaught; no blind man or woman unaided? I appeal to you Lions, you who have your sight, your hearing, you who are strong and brave and kind. Will you not constitute yourselves Knights of the Blind in this crusade against darkness?”
