“Gronk” Autographed Football Added to Lions Auction March 1

Posted February 19, 2015, North Easton, MA – The relentless train of snowstorms this winter has changed plans for all of us including moving the Easton Lions 29th Charity Auction to March 1st.  Many friends of the Lions have taken this opportunity to gather more exciting items for the auction and to ready our volunteers for next week’s main event!
Nancy Sullivan, our Auction Chair, always says, “It’s all about the kids!”  The children of our town provide the excitement and action that makes the auction an annual event not to be missed!  They are the bid runners on camera, they provide the smiles while displaying items, and they provide the friendly voices as bid-takers throughout the day.

Money raised from the Lions Charity Auction goes to support local groups and organizations in Easton and Massachusetts.  Each year the Easton Lions support our children through scholarships for graduating students, equipment for school and local sports organizations, funding for drama and music clubs, FEEE, FORE, boy scouts, girl scouts and many other groups who provide opportunities for our youth to grow and learn.

Please take a few moments to view over 200 items up for bid at this year’s auction by going to EastonLionsAuction.org.  Our Big Board features the 2007 Foard Focus donated by Bourne Auto (item #964– value $6,600) plus another 35 items not to be missed.  Some Big Board items added the past two weeks include:

  • An autographed football by the Patriots own Rob “the Gronk” Gronkowski donated by Doctor Mudd, (item # 1094– value $300).
  • Mangia Pizza in Norton donated 1 free medium cheese pizza per week for a year (item #1119–value $520).  This item is sure to generate many bids seeing how popular the 3 cheese pizzas at Buddy’s Union Villa Pizza (item #984– value $1,400) is each year.
  • 3 framed lithographs of Celtic legends Ainge, Parish, and Bird, signed by the artist and former Celtics player, coach and commentator, Tommy Heinsohn, (item #1121–value $450).
  • 8 cubic yards of mulch including installation donated by O’Brien Bros. Landscaping (item #1146–value $700).

The Big Board will have two old favorites back again this year, a 1-year Family Membership at the Old Colony YMCA in Easton (item #1067–value $990) and two $1,000 gift certificates from Dr Halvorsen Orthodontic Service/Easton Braces (item #978);  TOP 2 bidders each get one.

We also have an exciting NEW item, certificates for a 2-week summer camp for children age 7 to 13 at Camp Cody in New Hampshire, (item #969–value $3,300) – bidding starts at $1,500 – please view description online for full details; two are available pre-auction for the starting bid price!

You can view all items on our preview site via EastonLionsAuction.org.  Items are sortable by item numbers, retail value, and description.  Many of the items valued over $250 will probably be up on the Big Board.  Board assignments of all items will be posted on EastonLionsAuction.org Auction weekend. All items may be previewed in person in the Oliver Ames High School cafeteria, 100 Lothrup Street, N. Easton, MA on February 28th, from 2-4pm
